This week on Triangle Radio Podcast, we are excited to welcome Justin Worlock to the show! Justin is a manager at the newly opened True REST in Cary. True REST is a Float Spa, offering flotation therapy (also referred to as sensory deprivation) in a zero-gravity environment that allows the mind and body to completely let go, relax, and reset. Each float pod is filled with 1,000 pounds of Epsom Salts that allows guests to truly float and relax both mind and body.

True REST, is focused solely on float therapy and sense deprivation, and strives to provide the best possible experience from start to finish. Everything in the spa is catered to the senses from the dim lights, to salt lights, to complimentary ear plugs. Their experience is completely catered to total relaxation.
Floating is an emerging trend in the health and wellness space and Justin explains the tank experience is a great "training wheels" practice for meditation. We're often distracted by internal and external noise and the float tank is designed to shut off distractions and sensory simulations. This sort of tricks your brain into no longer processing the external environment and allows you to reconnect with your heartbeat or your breath. It's a great tool for taking a minute to disconnect from our fast-paced world and helpful for preventing burnout.
Justin, who has been with True REST for 4 years, initially was drawn to floating when he realized that some top innovators and creators in the world used meditation and floating to provide balance and clarity.
Some of the key health benefits are relief for chronic pain including arthritis, a reduction in blood pressure, and a decrease of muscle tension. Floating can also increase endorphins, reduce stress, and improve mood. Not to mention, epsom salts offer incredible benefits by providing magnesium, enhancing performance recovery, and even helping promote more restful sleep. Plus, the benefits of a float last for 8 hours!

Justin notes that clients keep coming back after their first float because it provides so much relaxation and pain relief. And as for first time floaters, Jason recommends having an open mind, zero expectations, and if you find it unenjoyable, True REST won't charge you for your float.
Due to COVID, the Cary location had to postpone their opening, but are now open with safety precautions in place for guests. Check out them out on Facebook and book your first float on their website.
